This Privacy Policy applies to the Memeix mobile application (the "App") and its related services, provided by Memeix (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our"). This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you download, install, and use the App. By accessing or using Memeix, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the collection and processing of your information in accordance with all terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to any part of this Policy, please refrain from using the App immediately.
We collect personal information only to the extent necessary to provide, maintain, and optimize the core functions of Memeix, including meme creation, editing, storage, and sharing. The information we collect consists of information you voluntarily provide, information automatically collected with your authorization, and information collected by third-party SDKs used in the App, all of which are collected and processed in compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
We use the collected information solely for legitimate purposes consistent with the provision of Memeix’s core services and your reasonable expectations, and we will never use your personal information for any purposes unrelated to the App without your explicit consent. We use the information to provide and maintain core App services, including enabling you to create, edit, save, and share meme works, as well as to support account management and cloud sync features (if applicable). We analyze anonymized usage data to identify user needs and usage habits, which helps us improve App feature design, fix technical bugs, and enhance overall operational efficiency and user experience. We use collected information to ensure the security and compliance of the App, including identifying abnormal operating behavior, preventing malicious attacks and unauthorized access, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of both users and the App. We may send you necessary service notifications including App version updates, new feature launches, and security alerts, which are essential for the use of the App. You may disable non-essential push notifications in the App’s settings or your device’s notification management at any time.
We strictly adhere to the principle of data minimization and will never sell, rent, lease, or otherwise disclose your personal information to any irrelevant third parties for commercial or marketing purposes. We may share your personal information only in the following limited circumstances, all of which comply with applicable data protection laws and regulations: We share your information with third parties only with your explicit consent, such as when you choose to share your meme works to social media platforms or other third-party services through the App. We may share limited anonymized information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, such as cloud storage and CDN service providers, and all such providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are only permitted to use your information to perform the specified services on our behalf, with no right to use or disclose the information for any other purposes. We may disclose your information if required to do so by applicable law, court order, administrative subpoena, or other legal obligations, or to protect our legitimate legal rights, property, or safety, as well as the rights, property, and safety of other users or the general public. In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of the transaction, and such transfer will be subject to a privacy policy that provides equivalent or higher levels of data protection, and we will notify you of such a transfer in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
We take reasonable and industry-standard technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect the security and confidentiality of your personal information, and to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of such information. We retain your account information for 30 days after you actively cancel your account, after which all such information will be permanently deleted in accordance with applicable laws. Local content data including your meme works is managed by you directly on your device, and cloud-synced data is retained until you delete the data or cancel your account, after which it will be completely removed from our servers. User data collected by the App is stored on secure servers located in jurisdictions that comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other cross-border data transfer rules, and all data transmission is protected by secure encryption protocols. We use AES-256 encryption to store sensitive information such as account credentials, conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of our systems, and limit access to personal information to only authorized personnel who have received professional data privacy and security training. While we take all reasonable measures to protect your information, please note that no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your personal information.
In accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to exercise the following rights regarding your personal information collected by us, and we will respond to your legitimate requests in a timely manner. You have the right to access and correct your personal information: you may view and modify your account information (e.g., email address, nickname) in the Profile section of the App, and export your own meme works and content data at any time. You have the right to delete and cancel your account: you may delete any uploaded content data and created meme works in the App at any time, and you may cancel your Memeix account through the App’s settings. Upon account cancellation, we will delete all your personal information within 30 days, unless applicable laws and regulations require us to retain such information for a specified period. You have the right to manage your authorization permissions: you may enable or disable the READ_MEDIA_IMAGES permission and other App-related permissions at any time in your device’s settings. Please note that disabling certain permissions may result in some core App features (e.g., meme creation from device images) being unavailable. You have the right to data portability: you may export your local meme works as image files directly in the App, and may request the export of your cloud-synced data through the App’s built-in feedback feature. You have the right to withdraw your consent: if you have previously granted consent for the collection and processing of your personal information, you may withdraw such consent at any time through your device’s permission settings. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of any data processing we conducted before the withdrawal of your consent.
The App may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services (e.g., social media platforms), and may integrate third-party SDKs to provide enhanced functionality. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party services, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or terms of service of such third parties. The key third-party SDKs integrated in the App include Google Firebase (https://firebase.google.com/policies/privacy) and Google AdMob (https://policies.google.com/privacy), and their data collection and processing rules are governed by their own official privacy policies. When you share your meme works to third-party social media platforms through the App, the collection and use of your information by such platforms is subject to their respective privacy policies, and we have no control over the processing of your information by third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the App to understand how they collect and use your information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable data protection laws and regulations, technological developments, or our business practices. When we make minor updates to the Policy, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top of this page and notify you through an in-App notification. For material changes (e.g., expansion of information collection scope, changes to data sharing rules), we will notify you at least 7 days in advance through prominent in-App pop-up notifications, and the updated Policy will take effect on the specified date. Your continued use of Memeix after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your personal information.

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction applicable to data protection, and any disputes arising from or in connection with this Policy shall be resolved in accordance with such laws.
